One of the best parts of booking an iris photography session is how little you actually need to do to prepare. Still, a few small things can help your visit go even more smoothly.

No special preparation needed. Unlike a traditional portrait session, there's no wardrobe to plan, no makeup routine to worry about, and no styling decisions to stress over. Since we're capturing your iris rather than your full appearance, you can simply arrive as you are.

Contacts and glasses aren't a problem. If you wear contact lenses, you're welcome to keep them in, though removing them beforehand can sometimes allow for slightly clearer detail. Glasses wearers don't need to worry either, glasses are simply removed just before your capture and put right back on afterward.

Come as you are, relaxed. There's no need to arrive early for prep or bring anything with you. Sessions take just 30 minutes total, and most of that time is spent getting comfortable and letting Mike guide you through the process, not rushing through technical setup.

Know what to expect. During your appointment, Mike will walk you through the process before the camera comes out, so there are no surprises. The macro equipment used is completely safe and doesn't involve any direct contact or uncomfortable lighting.

Plan for the reveal. Many clients tell us the most exciting part isn't the session itself, it's seeing their finished, professionally edited iris image for the first time. Within days of your visit, you'll receive high-resolution digital files ready to print however you'd like.
